The RYA Professional Practices and Responsibilities (PPR) Course is an essential online module for anyone using RYA qualifications professionally, whether in the UK or internationally. The course focuses on understanding the legal, ethical, and operational responsibilities of professional mariners working under the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) codes. Completion of the PPR course is required for those applying for or renewing an RYA Commercial Endorsement, which allows qualified skippers and instructors to work commercially on vessels up to 24 meters in length.

The course is structured into four modules.
