Aboard Boat Coaching started trading in Southampton on the Hamble in November 2018 although we started instructing RYA Courses well before that. Our instructors have a wealth of professional experience behind them teaching the full range of RYA Shorebased, Powerboat and Motor Cruising courses

We chose Universal Marina as our base because of its superb location and quick access to the ideal cruising and learning waters of the Solent, the river Hamble, Southampton and the Isle of Wight. Mike Coulson,  the founder of Aboard Boat Coaching (or ‘ABC’ as we tend to refer to ourselves)  shares Chief Instructor duties with a team of Chief Instructors alongside the office team who look after the bookings and courses. We always have been, and always will be, focussed on providing a first class customer service and an honest appraisal of whether we are best placed to help you as a school. If we can assist we will but if other schools locally or further afield are best placed we’ll head you in their direction.

Our emphasis is on making sure you enjoy your learning experience with us whilst we deliver the knowledge you require in a fun, safe & inclusive environment.  We do this by providing accredited RYA courses and by tailoring packages to you to provide all the knowledge that you will need to boat safely both this country and when you travel abroad and want to charter a vessel. We work with quality instructors, quality kit and facilities in a cost-effective way for you.
