Highfield First Aid at Work 3 day Course

This Course is for anyone who needs a First Aid at Work certificate for providing First Aid in the workplace, in our RYA world, it is required by RYA First Aid Instructors, to validate their Instructor status, (no current FAW certificate you can’t teach first aid), unless you are exempt as a doctor or registered Nurse or Paramedic etc.
The First Aid at Work course (Highfield level 3 Award) FAW (RQF), is a 3 day training course covering basic first aid and secondary care, this includes everything covered in the Emergency First Aid at Work course but also includes a more in-depth understanding of a wide range of conditions and injuries. This first aid course is written to UK Resuscitation Council protocols and are recognised by a number of national governing bodies as approved first aid courses, they also meet the need of employers looking to meet First Aid at Work regulations. As well as covering subjects such as CPR, choking, bleeding, all of our courses teach how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), a lifesaving device that can significantly improve someone’s chances of survival after they suffer a cardiac arrest.
This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid. It is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments, such as small offices. The course covers first aid protocols for adult casualties only. RE-VAL – You must be about to expire in your current FAW certificate, or no longer than one month after expiry of your FAW certificate if taking the 2 day version of this course as a re-validation, see the two day version for details.
Highfield First Aid at Work 2 day refresher Course

RE-VAL criteria – You must be about to expire in your current FAW certificate, or no longer than one month after expiry of your FAW certificate if taking the 2 day version of this course as a re-validation, otherwise you must take the full 3 day course.
Highfield Basic Life Support and AED Training – Half day

Highfield Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (RQF). Knowing what to do in an emergency such as a Cardiac Arrest, could save someone’s life and is a great skill to have.
This is a formal qualification with certification or a great First Aid refresher or (CPD session) if you have a First Aid at Work Course for your workplace or indeed you wish to know a little about First Aid and saving lives using CPR.
If you are a health care worker, this course will serve as a basic module, and can be used to show annual CPD training in CPR and defibrillator use for your Primary Care Trust.
No previous first aid knowledge is needed to attend a defibrillator course, but you must be over 18 years of age to attend this course.
This course teaches the essential skills for using a defibrillator, and gives students the confidence to know what to do in an emergency.
Highfield Emergency First Aid at Work – One day

Students must be aged 16 or more to attend this course.
A one-day Emergency First Aid at Work Course – This course is designed and aimed at smaller businesses and low risk environments. Perfect for businesses who only require first aid training covering emergency protocols. It is also a great course for anyone who wishes to know about first aid, provide CPR and be aware of how to use a defibrillator.
Martyns Law PAcT First Aid Trauma & AED 1 day

MARTYNS LAW – PacT FIRST AID (Public Access First Aid Training)
This training is delivered by Mike a Specialist Instructor in Terrorism Studies and First Aid who is trained in counter terrorism operations room procedures by the Police and the SCR (security control room) managers course, run by the government. Mike has a certificate in terrorism studies through St Andrews University and is trained via an American College of Surgeons team in the “stop the bleed program” and the use of tourniquets. He is likely to be joined by specialist military trauma first aid instructors who teach trauma first aid to the military, who are also registered paramedics.
Terrorism, Protection of premises bill (Martyn’s Law). We have designed a fit for purpose one day First Aid Course in anticipation of Martyn’s Law, including: Terrorist awareness and Marauding Terrorist Attacks, emergency care of trauma injuries and catastrophic bleeding, use of PAcT First Aid kits and improvised dressings and Basic Life Support and Defibrillator training. We can also supply such first aid kits if required.
This course has been put together with the Security Operative and site First Aiders in mind who would be mobilised for such incidents. Suitable for event centres, sports stadiums, shopping centres, theatre’s, airports and transport hubs. Speak to us about your needs, we can also travel to you to deliver the training or you can come to us in Southampton if you require smaller numbers to be trained.
New design PAcT one day first aid course for Martyn’s Law.
Starts with a talk on Terrorist case studies, what’s happening during an incident in the SCR (Security Control Room), how the emergency services respond, followed by Trauma injury first aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) and defibrillator (AED) training. Learners receive a Level 2 (RQF) recognised qualification in BLS & AED training.
We can cater for groups of 12 or 24 (with 2 instructors) if coming to your venue or if you can only release a handful of people at one time, 6 at our own venue. Dates shown are for us attending your venue but may be subject to a further mileage charge depending on where you are based.
