Shorebased Courses – VHF SRC Radio Course.

icom radio

VHF Radio – SRC Course.  (Available as RYA Course or half day refresher).

Please note our price quoted for this course includes the £70 direct payment to the RYA for the exam at the end of your course and we handle ALL RYA paperwork for you so you don’t have to, not many centres will do this, so its peace of mind for you and no searching for the correct forms and remembering to bring the RYA paperwork with you on the day.

There is a legal requirement to have an Operators Licence (SRC), if you wish to use your VHF Marine Radio. You are breaking the law if you do not have an Operators Licence to use the Radio. You could face a fine of up to £5000, 6 months imprisonment and confiscation of your Radio Equipment if you do not have a Licence to Operate (this is called an SRC Certificate), which stands for Short Range Certificate. Its like having a Driving Licence for your car, if you don’t have one, you can’t drive (the same thing).

We use really good real Icom Radios.  Icom themselves were very impressed with our Radio Training Room and did a Case Study on us a few years ago, you can read it at More »
