WHY CHOOSE ABOARD ? - (ABC)
Many thanks for visiting our web-site and for your interest in Aboard Boat Coaching. We believe you wont be disapointed in choosing us for your boat or boat related experience and learning, we are members of the Society for Education and Training and care about how you learn and what you learn, (not many schools are members of SET), so we are one step ahead in that respect immediately setting us apart from others. There are many schools you could choose from. We are not the cheapest and we are not the most expensive, but remember, you get what you pay for and we believe you get excellent value for money with us. Invest in us and we invest in you to give you the best learning experience possible.

We believe that you truly only get what you pay for in life and Powerboat Training falls under that philosophy also, we have dedicated our tools of the trade to reflect this and invested heavily to provide you with a great service.
Our location is fantastic, a perfect spot set within a nature reserve on the lovely river Hamble. It has perfect access to Southampton Water, the Solent and the Isle of Wight, what better Sea Training area could you ask for and Cowes being only a short distance too. Universal Marina is a wonderful lifestyle Marina and when you come to us here, you get easy parking free of charge. There is a great restaurant on site (Banana Wharf), where you can get a good meal lunch or dinner. We also have a Coffee shop opposite our classrooms (Mermaids), that serves a selection of food and drink. You cant get a better location for ease of refreshments, they are only meters away from our classrooms.
In addition to Aboard Boat Coaching, there is a Chandlers shop, a boat sales broker, a pilates centre and other businesses offering boat cleaning, maintenance and repair.
Our boat is a fantastic bit of kit, coded for 10 people and provides you with a great working platform, but not only that, its a comfortable Rib that you will get a seat on (some schools will have you sitting on the tubes)! If thats what you want from your experience then fine, but you get a lot more of a boat with us.
We have selected some great Instructors, we have an ex Royal Navy Instructor, an ex merchant navy Instructor, 2 ex Police Marine Coxswains and several others who not only work for us, but are very much part of the team. We will be having regular get togethers and training days for our staff who will be updated of anything fresh or new or updated of any change of legislation or RYA updates. One Instructor we have is an RYA Trainer and Examiner and in addition a Centre Inspector and RYA safety officer, another Instructor was trained as a Deputy Harbour Master for the period of the Olympic Games Sailing Events in 2012 at Weymouth. We have Sailors and Powerboat staff on the books, including a female if you would prefer a ladies only event. One of our Instructors has written for boat magazines and has received several years of fantastic feedback as an Instructor.
Our classroom facilities are excellent, new in 2018, comprising of a large classroom, a smaller one, an office and kitchen area, we invest more than the average school to provide much better classrooms. Our VHF radio training room is top quality with all new Icom radio’s (2018) and we also have a Diesel engine in one training room to teach the RYA Diesel Engine Course and will soon be adding a sectioned engine so you can see into it. We are a professional teaching establishment and members of (SET), the Society for Education and Training setting us apart from other schools. This is just one example of our dedication to your learning.
Why not pop in and see for yourself and have a chat about your requirements, just ask for Mike at reception.
